Farm Biosecurity Policy
At Ravenhill Reserve, protecting the health of our Highland cattle and preserving the integrity of our working property is one of our highest priorities.
By visiting our property, all guests agree to comply with this Biosecurity Policy.
Before You Visit
Please do not visit if:
- you have recently been in contact with livestock affected by a contagious disease;
- you have been advised to isolate due to an animal disease outbreak;
- you are feeling unwell with symptoms that may impact staff or other guests.
If unsure, please contact us before travelling.
Footwear
Please arrive with reasonably clean footwear.
Where requested, guests must use any footwear cleaning or disinfecting stations provided.
Livestock
Please do not:
- feed animals unless instructed;
- enter paddocks without permission;
- touch animals other than those included in your experience;
- cross fences or barriers.
Dogs & Other Animals
Guest pets are not permitted on the property.
This helps protect livestock, wildlife and farm biosecurity.
Vehicles
Guests must park only in designated parking areas.
Vehicles are not permitted beyond guest parking unless authorised.
Food
Please do not leave food or rubbish on the property.
Picnic food must never be offered to livestock.
Hygiene
Hand sanitiser and handwashing facilities are provided.
Guests should wash or sanitise their hands after interacting with livestock and before eating.
Biosecurity Incidents
Should Ravenhill Reserve become subject to a livestock disease outbreak, emergency animal health direction or government restriction, bookings may be postponed or cancelled to protect livestock and comply with legal requirements.
